FAQs
Where do I start?
Fill out the contact form and select desired service and I will reach out to you via phone call or email to schedule a free 15-minute discovery call to learn more about you! During this call we will discuss the details of why you are seeking nutrition counseling, consulting, or personal training, what you’re looking to achieve by meeting with me, and whether or not I think we’d be a good fit when it comes to working together.
What does working together look like?
Step 1: Filling out initial intake paperwork. Before scheduling your session, I will ask you to fill out the necessary intake paperwork that will be needed for our session. Documents will be sent via HIPAA-compliant EMR system (Healthie Inc.). The purpose of this paperwork is to gather pertinent nutrition-related information that will allow me to better serve you throughout our session. A consent for nutrition services, consent for telehealth services, HIPAA agreement, financial agreement, and insurance verification form will also be included in this paperwork.
Step 2: Appointment scheduling and initial consultation. Once intake paperwork has been reviewed and all pertinent information is obtained, we will then move on to scheduling your appointment and conducting the initial consultation at your scheduled time. During this 60-minute appointment we will dive deeper into your health history and work in conjunction to come up with a plan that aligns with your lifestyle and helps you achieve your nutrition and health-related goals.
Step 3: Follow up sessions are encouraged. Together we will discuss a follow-up plan during initial consultation, if needed.
What does a session look like?
Every session is different depending on you and your health journey. Sessions are conversation based as we discuss your journey, barriers, and strategies to overcome them. Some sessions are more educational bent if explaining something in depth such as diabetes physiology, and other times we will go over your food journal or meal plan. All nutrition advice is evidence-based as we hold ourselves to a strict code of ethics when it comes to advertising services.
Do you work with children and adolescents?
Yes, depending on the needs and the age of the child. Please fill out the contact form below to see if we can help.
How long should I expect to work with you?
Each relationship is different. Some of my clients go through a couple of sessions and some of my clients have been with me for months. There’s no right or wrong timeline for growth! My goal is to get every client to a place where they can succeed on their own with all of the tools we’ve created together. Similar to therapy, every client has the ability to schedule maintenance check-ins as well.
What questions can I ask my insurance provider to determine if I am covered or not?
You should always check insurance coverage before your scheduled appointment. Even if you have an excellent insurance policy, it does not mean you have coverage for the nutrition services that you are looking for.
To verify nutrition coverage, call the 800 number on the back of your insurance card and ask to speak with a representative from member services.
First, confirm that we are in your insurance network by telling the insurance agent that the provider is Regan Tripp (Type 1 NPI # 1609695055). To start, ask “do I have nutrition services on my current policy?” If yes, then ask the following questions:
What specific coverage for CPT codes 97802 and 97803?
Is ICD10 Code Z71.3 covered?
Does my plan cover telehealth services?
Does my plan require MD referral?
How many medical MNT telehealth visits do I have per calendar year?
What is considered a calendar year for my current policy?
Do I have a deductible for nutrition services? If so, have I met my deductible?
Do I have a co-pay or co-insurance for nutrition counseling?
What if my insurance does not cover nutrition counseling?
For those that are out-of-network please note that The Wellness Tripp LLC does happily accept private pay clients.
